MBC Members' Meeting 5/21/2019

Post event report:

21 members and guests attended the MBC Members' meeting. We enjoyed an evening of sharing stories about rides and hopes of the future for MBC. Everyone had plenty of a great variety of Mexican themed food.

After having our hunger enjoyably satisfied, June Siple, President, gave a very brief update on the status of the club indicating that we now have 76 members, a significant bank balance to contiue our activities into the future, a request for interested members to consider becoming a board member, and listing our various committees in which any member is eligible to participate.

Our guest presenter, Rob Gillespie of AXIS Physical Therapy of Missoula demonstrated the need and process of fitting your bicycle to each individual rider. He was assisted by member Emma Wimmer who volunteered to be the subject of this fitting demonstration. Rob pointed out the sequence of performing the fit process and the consequences of improper fit.

Pre-event information:

"Meet and Greet Potluck" on May 21, 2019: This event is open to the bicycling public. Trippers, come and meet our leaders! We'll start with a Mexican potluck, so please bring your favorite Mexican dish.

After the potluck, Rob Gillespie of AXIS Physical Therapy of Missoula will demonstrate a "Bike Fit," a measured  examination of bike vs. rider to get the best fit. This is a professional service he provides at AXIS. If we have time, he'll provide info on pre and post-ride stretches. Doors open at 5:30 with the potluck starting at 6:00, at the Spirit of Peace building at 506 Toole Avenue, which is near the railroad bike/ped bridge in downtown Missoula.

Meanwhile, I hope to get as many leaders to attend as possible, so our club riders can "Meet and Greet" our leaders at the potluck.
