Post event report:

7 riders gathered at Great Harvest Bread Company on a comfortable morning with Carl to ride the Bitterroot Trail to celebrate his birthday. Due to a late notice appointment Carl was not able to make the entire trip on this great morning. Carl turned back so that he could meet a 12 noon appointment. Carl indicated that he would be able to ride in the evening to make up for the lost miles.

The other 6 riders continued on down the Bitterroot Trail to various turnaround points as they desired. All who continued, found the ride enjoyable and returned safely to Missoula.

One rider who stopped at Glenn's Cafe in Florence for lunch registered 36.37 miles with an elev ation gain of 759 ft. Other riders did not report their individual distances.

Pre-ride information:

Just received notification from Carl that he will be celebrating his birthday with a bike ride so this scheduled ride is repurposed and extended for Carl. Join Carl for this ride down the Bitterroot Trail to mile mark 32 on the trail (before Victor). Slow to moderate 10-15mph. conversational pace. Regroup at Lolo, Florence, Stevi, and same on return. Stop for Breakfast Burrito in Florence on southern, outbound, part of ride. Carl will finish with an additional ride up the Rattlesnake (extra miles to make 69). Feel free to drop off at any point but PLEASE contact the leader or co-leader to notify them of your leaving the ride.

Any cancellation/postponement will be posted here and a cancellation email will be sent out not later than 5:00 PM the day before the ride, Friday 6/30, to all who have RSVP'd.

We will try to leave our assembly point as soon after 9:00 AM as possible. This will be a moderate paced ride with some significant hill climbs both outgoing and returning.
