MBC Bitterroot Trail Gran Fondo -Fun Ride Report
10 riders gathered at Great Harvest Bread Co. for this cool morning ride beginning at 8:35. One additional rider who biked up from Hamilton, joined us at the Willow tree between Lolo and Missoula. Overall the weather was quite pleasant for this ride. Starting temperature in the high 50's with partly cloudy skies, and ending with temperatures in the mid 70's. The pace was such that much socializing occurred on the trail. It was a wonderful chance for some of the MBC riders to stop at Glen's Cafe in Florence for pie or lunch. During the ride we saw several groups on the trail enjoying the beautiful weather and each other's company.
Various individuals turned around at their own selected distance including Bob, for his 3 days early birthday ride of 78 Km. The riders who completed the entire ride with Carl the leader rode approximately 56 miles.

Missoula Bicycle Club is sponsoring a ride to explore the Bitterroot Trail. This ride will begin at Great Harvest Bread Co. in Missoula and proceed down the Bitterroot Trail to Stevensville and return to GH.
As of 8/5 the weather for the Gran Fondo day seems to indicate a very comfortable riding day. Probable headwind heading outbound and potential cross tailwind inbound as the wind starts from the south and changes to wsw and increasing to 11 mph. This advance weather information is tentative and may change so be prepared. Decision to Cancel will be made if air quality is low or inclement weather by 07:30 am the morning of ride.
